Sports Direct is coming back to the Priory Centre, marking a significant milestone in Worksop's ambitious town centre regeneration plans. The flagship store will open in the coming weeks in its original unit, spanning 6,000 square feet and stocking major brands including Nike, adidas, PUMA and Skechers.
The move will create over 10 new job opportunities for local people. The store's return signals renewed momentum for the redevelopment project as demolition work continues on site to prepare for the next phase of transformation.
The wider regeneration plans include new leisure and entertainment facilities, with a climbing wall, indoor adventure play area, bowling alley and dining venues in the pipeline. Bassetlaw District Council has been working to revitalise the Priory Centre as a key retail and leisure destination.
Councillor Steve Scotthorne, Cabinet Member for Identity, Planning and Place, said the Sports Direct announcement was "a big boost for the centre" and would help attract further businesses to the project.
