Worksop saw 311 reported crimes in February, according to official police figures released today. Violent crime topped the list with 94 incidents, while shoplifting accounted for 77 offences across the town.

Together, these two categories made up more than half of all crimes reported to police during the month. Anti-social behaviour was the third most common issue, with 31 reports, followed by criminal damage and arson with 22 cases.

Other significant categories included public order offences (20), general theft (17), and burglary (15). Vehicle crime affected 13 residents, whilst robbery was reported just four times. Drug offences and weapons possession each recorded just three incidents, and bicycle theft was reported twice.

The figures show the range of crime types affecting the Worksop area, from high-street shop thefts to more serious violent incidents. Residents concerned about crime in their neighbourhood can report issues to Nottinghamshire Police on 101, or in an emergency on 999.
