Over 1,000 new homes will be built on 252 acres of farmland south of Ordsall in Retford after planners approved the outline plans at a meeting in Worksop Town Hall on 1 April 2026.

The development will be accessed via Ollerton Road and Brecks Road, with the site bordering Retford Golf Club. Council planners have described the scheme as creating a new "village" on the edge of Retford.

Beyond housing, the plans include a primary school, care home, community centre, sports facilities and a country park. The scale of the project means significant changes to the area south of Retford over the coming years.

This is outline planning permission, meaning developers have secured the principle of what can be built. Detailed plans for each phase of development will need to be submitted and approved separately before construction begins.
