Worksop recorded 409 reported crimes in March, according to official police data, with violent crime and shoplifting proving persistent problems for the area.
Violent crime topped the list with 102 reported incidents, whilst shoplifting accounted for 88 cases. Together, these two categories made up nearly 46 per cent of all crime in the town.
Anti-social behaviour remained a concern with 62 reports, whilst criminal damage and arson cases numbered 36. Other forms of theft contributed a further 24 incidents.
Less common crimes included robbery (5 cases), bicycle theft (4) and possession of weapons (3). Drug-related offences were recorded at 9 incidents for the month.
