Local residents can now apply to become Governors at Bassetlaw Hospital, taking a seat on the decision-making board that shapes NHS services in the area.
The Trust is looking to fill nine public Governor posts, with two specifically representing Bassetlaw. Governors work alongside hospital leaders to ensure services meet the needs of the communities they serve.
No prior healthcare experience is needed. The Trust is actively seeking candidates from all backgrounds, whether retired or working, who care about local healthcare and want to make a difference. Governors bring valuable local insight that helps drive service improvements.
Mark Bailey, Chair of the Board, said: "Whether you're working or retired, have experience in healthcare or none at all, your perspective matters. If you care about your local NHS and want to make a difference, I would strongly encourage you to consider putting yourself forward."
The role forms part of the Trust's Council of Governors, which holds hospital leaders to account and contributes to major decisions affecting the 440,000-plus population DBTH serves across South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and surrounding areas.
To apply, you must be a Trust Member. Nominations close on 5 June. Full details and membership sign-up information are available at www.dbth.nhs.uk
