Four staff members from Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals took on the London Marathon challenge, raising more than £10,000 for DBTH Charity. The team of Kieran Benson, Nicole Tucker, Lyndsey Dunworth and Steve Forster all completed the 26.2-mile route.
Kieran Benson, a systems project support specialist, raised over £4,000 in memory of his grandparents who received care from the Trust. He organised several fundraising events beforehand, including a charity football match at DBTH, a quiz night at Brix Coffee Co and completing the Doncaster 10K. He finished in 3 hours 40 minutes and 47 seconds.
Nicole Tucker, a midwife at DBTH, came in just under her target time. Lyndsey Dunworth ran during her 50th birthday year and trained alongside her twin sister. Steve Forster raised more than £2,000.
The money will help DBTH Charity continue supporting patients, families and staff by improving hospital environments, buying specialist equipment and funding wellbeing initiatives that fall outside the usual NHS budget.
