Four staff members from Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals are preparing for the London Marathon this spring to raise money for DBTH Charity, which supports local hospital services.

Kieran Benson, an eRoster Support Analyst, is running in memory of his grandparents, who received care from the trust. He has raised over £3,200 through organising a seven-a-side charity football match, hosting a quiz night at BRIX Coffee Co in Worksop, and completing the Doncaster 10K. Local businesses including Albemarle Homes have also backed his fundraising.

Steve Forster is training with Team Manvers running club and has already raised over £1,200. He completed the Brass Monkey Half Marathon in York as part of his preparation.

Lyndsey Dunworth is marking her 50th birthday by running the marathon. She chose to support DBTH Charity because local hospitals have been important to her family and wanted to back fundraising in the area.

Midwife Nicole Tucker, who sees the charity's impact every day at work, has completed her first 10K and the Yorkshire 10 Mile as she trains. All four runners are working towards the 26.2-mile challenge in London. The charity's marathon debut last year raised more than £2,000 for the Children's Ward at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
