The Neonatal Unit at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals received a visit from LUSH Doncaster last month, bringing complimentary hand massages and wellbeing treats to families and staff.
Maria and Clara, from the store, spent time on the unit offering relaxation to parents and colleagues. The gesture was part of LUSH's commitment to supporting local communities and came at a particularly valuable time for those in the unit.
Lisa Amey-Wood, Matron of Neonatal Services, said the visit was "such a lovely gift for our parents and colleagues." She added: "Neonatal care can be incredibly emotionally demanding for all involved, so having the opportunity to pause for a few moments and enjoy some kindness and relaxation really meant a lot to everyone."
The neonatal team provides round-the-clock care for babies born prematurely or needing specialist treatment, alongside ongoing support for families throughout their stay.
Maria, Store Manager at LUSH Doncaster, said: "We wanted to show a small token of appreciation while also giving parents a chance to relax and be looked after too."
The unit is supported by the Mini Marvels Appeal, which funds comforting spaces for parents, vital equipment for newborns, and support for siblings. Find out how to support the appeal at dbthcharity.co.uk/mini-marvels-appeal/
