Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is hosting a Patient Engagement and Experience Event on Saturday 20 June from 10am to 2pm at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.

The event is open to patients, carers, families and anyone from the local community who wants to have a say in how hospital services are run. Visitors can attend for the full day or drop in during the afternoon.

Throughout the day, people will be able to meet teams from across the trust, take part in discussion groups, and explore tools designed to support patients and carers. There will be presentations on inclusive communication, using patient feedback to improve care, and working with carers and families.

The trust will also host stalls from partner organisations including AccessAble, CardMedic, Language Empire, and the Carers Group. For those interested in becoming paid interpreters, Language Empire will be offering information about training opportunities.

Deputy Chief Nurse Simon Brown said the event is a pilot to understand what people find most valuable. Feedback from the event could lead to similar events being held across other parts of the trust, including Bassetlaw and Montagu hospitals.

Refreshments will be provided. People can register their interest in advance at https://tinyurl.com/e6thnwpb
