Worksop Town came away with a point after a 1-1 draw at Alfreton Town on Good Friday. Aaron Martin put the Tigers ahead early in the second half, firing home from close range after a parried free kick, but Kieran Freeman's wind-affected corner handed Alfreton an equaliser on 66 minutes.

The match at the Solana Stadium was closely contested throughout. Lewis Forshaw made a fine save to deny Lewis Salmon in the opening stages, while Martin also had a header over the bar for Worksop. Freeman's free kick in the first half also tested the Tigers' goalkeeper.

Martin was a constant threat, including a late chance when Liam Waldock laid the ball on for him, but Alfreton's defence stood firm. Greaves had two blocked shots in the closing minutes as Worksop pressed for a winner, but the conditions and Alfreton's resilience kept the teams level.

It was a fair result on the day. Manager Craig Parry kept the squad fresh with the knowledge that Buxton were coming to the Windsor Foodservice Stadium on Easter Monday. With the relegation battle heating up, a point away from home maintains the Tigers' position in the title push as they head into the business end of the season.

Attendance: 734. Man of the Match: Aaron Martin.
